king of the WILD THINGS

Anyone with a little boy this age looking at this post is probably thinking, that's my boy, lol! Luckily for me, I'm not one of them ;-)

This is king of the wild things from Stamping Bella, and I must say it is one of my favourites. I must sound like a broken record, I think I say that about all the images from Stamping Bella, but come to think of it, why would I have bought it if that wasn't the case.

I coloured him with my prismacolor pencils blended with sansador and cut him out with my craft knife, then layered on a nestie mat and framed with a nestie. I added some antique accents, and highlights with my sakura glaze pen. The corners were done with a stampin' up corner punch and the white background behind him with a cuttlebug template.

Have you all been having a good weekend, I know I have. I've not left the house, and yesterday we had such a beautiful day, then last night some rain, and today lovely sunshine again. Just how it should be! If only the weather man would read this post lol.

Friday we have a colour challenge for Bellarific Friday, you can get all the details on the bella blog, and believe it or NOT, but my card is already done, woohoo. It was pure luck, I just happened to make a card with those colours before I knew what they were.

I got to get going, it's impossible to type with Jingle on the keyboard every two seconds. I also got to go make some dinner before American Idol starts, hate cooking :-(

Who's got gossip

Isn't she a classy gossiper, just like me, lol! Oh no wait I never gossip. This is so unusual though, who still has a telephone with a long cord attached to it. Certainly not me, lol.

So, Gossipabella is from Stamping Bella, and she is one of the more recent additions to the Bella range. I loved her when I saw her and had to have her. Is there any other way?

I coloured her with my prisma pencils, blended with sansador and cut with a nestie. Added some ribbon, gemstones and a little buckle for a change, had them since forever and finally used one, woohoo.

I had such a day today, I discovered a mother cat with her 3 kittens in the gardens at our offices. I tried to catch them but in high heel shoes with white pants and lots of mud it was NOT easy. We've put some food out for them, so I'll keep a look out and hope I can eventually help them. But my heart just breaks, they are so small :-)

That's my take for today, I need to get going, in a hurry, again!

Back to School

You might be wondering, what on earth was I thinking, how is this back to school!?!?. Well my pupil is going back to Art School, lol rofl! Not everyone has to be the same. She might win American Idol one day. Speaking of American Idol, I hear it's Simon Cowell's last season, how sad is that.

Back to my card... This is such a cool stamp from Stamping Bella, All punked up and nowhere to go, I love it. Reminds me of myself in the 80's, woohoo! I coloured her with my prisma pencils, blended it with sansador and cut the image with nesties. The 'sentiment' at the bottom right, was paper pieced, it is part of the DP, I just wanted to make it stand out a little. So I cut it out and put some liquid crystal on.

The other sentiment is from Stamping Bella and it's probably one of my favourites. It's great with so many occasions. (I think :-))

Always late

That's me, always late! I don't know what it is, but I just cannot seem to shake it. However, this card is definitely not going to be late - yay! My cousin is having a baby in November, and we have provisionally been told there will be a baby shower. So I have started making cards for her. Ain't I good - FOR ONCE. Don't ask Emily about how good I am, for her I am ALWAYS late! Sorry Emily.

I decided on Teddybella for the first card, cause even though she has a gorgeous little teddy in that bag of hers, you can't miss that preggy belly. Funny she even reminds me of my cousin, tall skinny and a big soccer ball under her shirt, lol!

She is fun to colour and clearly being pregnant does not tire her out, looking at that amount of shopping she's done. I would be exhausted, but then again I'm old, lol! I coloured her with my prismas of course, blended with grumtine and added glitter and glaze and all the good stuff that baby cards should have.

The paper is Basic Grey and it's a 6 x 6 pad, which is just perfect for cards! I am so impressed with the person who thought of those. Wish I could get them in other papers too. Okay I guess I could but I buy from Stamping Bella and they not in the shop :-(

Okay got to hurry to finish this post, I am late for work - hehehehe.... there's a new theme for this Bellarific Friday, it's Halloween or Fall, no sketch. Not so hard, except maybe for me cause we don't do Halloween here. I am sure I will come up with something.

More Christmas

That sounds a little bit like bad English, but when you blog you're allowed to 'speak' anyway you like, aren't you!? Well that's what I believe and I am sticking to it, lol!

Bad English or not, I'm just so impressed with myself that I have made a third Christmas card this year, wooo hoooo.... isn't that impressive, yeah okay, probably not. Some of you have probably made 10 or more already, but when one considers I didn't make a single one last year, then it is impressive, so there, LOL!!!

Snowy House, and thank goodness it is not my house that is snowy, was coloured with prismacolor pencils and blended with grumtine. I cut the image with my nesties long rectangle and layered it on 3D foam. I added lots of glamour dust, and lost of clear glaze pen, but my photos never show all these beautiful effects. It looks SO nice in real life. You'll just have to come visit to see for yourself.

I really love this stamp, the house looks so inviting to me. I imagine if it was on my street I would drive past everyday and wonder what it's like inside. To some extent it even reminds me of my house, it's also a double storey, has a double front door, only one chimney though and unfortunately it's not for the fire place but for the built in braai (BBQ), but my house is not that narrow, it's quite a lot wider and at Christmas time, it has a Christmas tree lit up in the one window! It also has a big wall with electric fencing, see, not so cosy! I'll have to try and share a pic at Christmas. Hopefully I remember.

I keep thinking it is Sunday today, thank goodness it isn't!! It is so quiet here, except now the parrots are on a roll, making one hell of a noise. And I can't hear the church bells, so I guess it can't be Sunday. I love weekends when I don't have to wake up with an alarm clock, but this morning some lost soul decided to ring my gate intercom at 6:20, who does that!!!!??? I first looked out the window before I answered, and saw a guy, with a collar and tie, standing next to his car and the boot open. He was delivering a magic box, for Mark!!! What the hell is a magic box, and there is no Mark in this house.... I was so not happy with him. I did manage to sleep another hour, but it was just not the same, know what I mean!

Now I guess I got to end this post, and go play ball with my babies. They have been waiting all afternoon but it has been SO hot, they would've died of heat exhaustion. Even the parrots looked a little dazed by the heat, shame, I gave them each a shower - with a water spray bottle and a very fine mist - not the real shower - lol.

Beauty Queen

So here's something different! I made a card without a Bella stamp. Isn't that unbelievable. I know, I even surprised myself. I am so behind on everything lately, my Bella cards, my blog hopping, my colouring - all of it! It's so sad, I don't like being behind, especially not having seen what you all have been up to. I just don't find the time, and when I do sneak in a little 'blog visiting' I can't leave comments cause it's blocked on my work computer :-(

I am hoping to catch up a little when I finish here.

This stamp is from Stampendous, and I have had it for a very long time, but this is only the second time I've made something with it. It's incredible how I have to have every stamp I lay my beady little eyes on, and yet I will probably never have the time to use them all more than once.

I coloured this one with my prisma pencils, blended it with grumtine and tried something a little different with the way I cut the image and card. I just felt like being a little more creative than usual.

Well I guess I got to get out of here, my dogs' chicken is cooking and I need to go check on it, but before that I REALLY want to go visit a few blogs. I'm bored with mine, lol!

Bella Challenge

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe it's been this long since I've been on my blog. It is winter here and in winter I tend to hibernate a little. My computer is in my study, which is a cold room in my house, unless I plug a portable heater in... and my couch, nice and warm and cosy, is usually so much more inviting.

I managed to join the Bella Challenge again this week. It was a sketch by Linda this time, which I must add was not as hard as the one Paula drove me insane with - LOL! For the first time I had to colour my Bella black, it was quite strange and unusual. The card is for a girl at the office who is about to have her baby, and as she is black, I couldn't give her a card with a white Bella now could I.

I coloured her with prismacolor pencils and blended with grumtine. Now you may ask grumtine. Well I bought it the other day from a craft supplier, and it works just as well as the sansador and it's slightly cheaper. It has an orange cent so when I use it my whole house smells of oranges. The cent does not remain on the card, pity, I wish I could get perfume for my cards. Something that smells like baby powder, wouldn't that be cool.

I am very happy that it is not me who had to do all that shopping, especially not for baby stuff, I'd rather have bags full of craft supplies!

I am definitely catching up on google reader this weekend, I've not visited any blog's for so long. I'm dying to see what you've all been up to.

'Replacement' Mother's Day

As I mentioned before, the other mother's day card I made my mom got snatched up when I took it to work. Last night I managed to finish the 'replacement' card. Ironically, while I was making it my mom came and chatted to me several times. Never when I'm making other cards does she come into my room to chat, but last night when I am trying to make a card for her, she just had to come visit, often - luckily she didn't even pay attention to what I was doing, as she usually does when I'm busy making cards. (It's not really her thing :-) )

I chose this image as it is actually so much more fitting than the other card I made, guess everything happens for a reason. I'm not sure of the colours though, as I don't think this is really her taste. The stamp & sentiment are both from Stamping Bella, and was one of the ones I ordered, which I just had to have. I love this image, and the sentiment is perfect! It is called Stella with an olive on top.

The image was coloured with my prismacolor pencils, just for a change, cut out with my nestibilities, and it and the sentiment were mounted on 3D foam.

I didn't manage to make something for the Bella challenge this week. Too many mother's day cards I had to fit in. But go check all the entries, I'm sure you'll have great fun - I sure did!!! I love seeing what other people make, it's so inspiring.

Now I'm off to the shops, I'll be making breakfast for my mom and sister for Mother's Day tomorrow. Seeing they are both mothers (and I'm not), I figured I'll give them the morning off.

Tonight I have to go to my niece's school for a choir performance. They practice like a million times a week, so this should be good, I think I should take an iPod just in case not ;-) I'll let you know when I next post something.....

Michelle is 9

Wow, I cannot believe that my niece, Michelle, is turning nine. It's always easy to remember her age cause she was born in 2000! Even old people like me can manage....

She requested a green and blue card. I have no idea why, and I also have NO idea who chooses to mix green and blue, other than my nine year old niece. This was as close to green and blue as I could manage. I have another project I've sort of put together which is a LOT more green and blue, but I will ask my mother tomorrow if I pass with this card :-)

This is one of the Sugar Nellie stamps I ordered from Funky Kits. I just had to have Rory the lion, cause lions are from Africa you know. I coloured him with my lyras and blended with Sansador. He was also coloured before choosing the paper, but it was luckily not too hard to find something to match him, especially seeing he's going to a girl. I put some liquid crystal on the water drops just to make it look a bit more real and mounted the image on 3D dots.

I did not put a '9' on the card. Is that bad, should I have.... I couldn't decide and felt it would just have made the card too busy, guess I'll ask my mother that too tomorrow.

I went looking for the lizard today, but couldn't see him. I saw lots of others, climbing up my walls to get a bit of sun, but not the poor 'slow' one which I freed yesterday. I just hope he is not in pain, that is my worst fear. The poor thing didn't make a sound, do lizards make sounds. I guess not. Pity, how do we tell if they are in pain....!?

I've impressed myself today, two cards in one day.... I'm getting faster whoooohoooo!

Oh, we have mother's day next Sunday, I think it's the same as the Americans. So my card is still on time Mar, thanks for checking.
