Finally a card

I am so pleased I have a card to share, but better yet, I am also entering it for That's Krafty Thursday, my super talented Chicken's challenge, lol! Yes of course I'm talking of Jeanie, she's back and with a bang. Be sure to go check out her new craft room and her latest creations. Nothing has changed in the time she was gone and I'm so pleased she's back to inspire me again, woohoo.

This card is for my cousin's daughter who's having her first birthday party this weekend. Okay so there is no ONE on it, but I'm challenged with those things, so she will just have to read the message inside to know what birthday it was for, lol.

The image is from Penny Black, I coloured it with Prisma pencils and blended with Sansdor (gamsol). The sentiment is from Stamping Bella, and I'm always glad when I manage to get a sentiment on my cards. Am I the only one challenged with that... obviously not, I see such gorgeous cards out there with sentiments all the time, lol.

That's about all there is to say today. I hope to finish one more card this week, but it's a BIG hope.

All the best

Girls' night out

Look at these two chickens, how can you not love them. See why I can't eat eggs any more ;-)

My mom's friend Jenni, is turning 80 this weekend, and she said these two ladies are just like her and Jenni when they visit and chat and shop and drink, and all the good things you can do with a great friend! I totally agree, and I think my mom is the one on the right, lol.

I used the Stamping Bella sketch from last week for this card. I have to say, I used to struggle terribly with sketches, but I am starting to like them a lot. If you make sure the image goes with the sketch, which I didn't do in the past, then it is SO much easier to put a card together... especially when you've seen it used.

This image is from Penny Black, the sentiment from Stamping Bella, cut out with a nestie of course. I inked the sentiment with a very light blue chalk ink.

The paper is from Basic Grey, again the 6x6 pad, and the white embossed paper was put through the swiss dot cuttlebug folder.

I've been busy hey? We had terrible weather this past weekend, so I couldn't do any DIY, didn't want to go out for food, actually I got home on Friday from work, parked my car in the garage and didn't take it out again until Monday morning when I had to go to work. That is my perfect weekend!!!

Stamping Bella has a great sketch this week, by none other than Paula, but fear not, it is a sketch for us normal folk this time, it won't give you a huge big headache. So who's going to join me, I am definitely participating. (You can find the sketch here.)

Now I'm out of here, Ellen Degeneres is on and I'm missing it....

A mouse in the house

I think there is a mouse in my house. Well at least that's what I told my mom last night, because someone has been eating my biscuits. She laughed and said there are two. She and my sister had tea and wanted biscuits and raided my cupboard, lol!

Isn't this little mouse just the cutest, with his big fat belly. The chocolate is as big as he is, no wonder he can't move. Funny I felt like that the other night, I ate too much, I assume ;-) I couldn't move either, I didn't know how to sit, stand, lay down.... nothing helped. But lets move on to the card, cause you'll all think I'm a greedy chop.

I coloured the image, which is from Penny Black, with my prismacolor pencils, blended it with paper stumps, ooooooooooh talk about paper stumps. Paula sent me some stumps, they are the same as the ones she uses, from Taiwan! What amazing stumps they are! If only I could buy them here, they really do make a difference when blending.

The image was cut out with nesties, what else.... placed on 3D foam and I added, ooooh I nearly forgot, some clear glaze with my glaze pen Paula sent me! I guess you can all assume by now, I got a parcel from Paula again. It was GREAT!!! Full of goodies and lots of images!

I guess I better finish this post, it is nearly 8 o'clock and I've still got to shower, get dressed, give the gardener a list of things to do to keep him busy today.... it's not an easy task in winter to keep the gardener busy, mine ends up having to paint instead.

Don't forget it's Bellarific Friday today if you're interested to see all the beautiful creations with the latest sketch, then go to the Bella Blog.

Have a GREAAAAAAAAATE Friday!!!!

Happy Birthday Mom

Are these not just the cutest mice in town. Good thing they are not real or Simby and Misty (my 4 legged babies), would try to catch them, they won't care how cute they are.

This stamp is one of my Penny Black stamps which is sitting on the shelf not seeing any ink. I loved this stamp when I bought it and I think this is only the second time I used it. And I've had it for about 3 years. It's a shame there isn't enough time for all the stamps.

I made this card for my mom for her birthday. It is unbelievable how quick and easy it was to put together. The other one took me hours, this one about an hour and a half! (Well I hope it doesn't show ;-))

I coloured the images with ...... lets guess..... prismacolor pencils, what else, blended it with sansador and paper stumps, cut out with.... wait for it.... lets guess.... nesties. OK sorry, I realise my guessing games are quite boring, lol!

I added some glitter to the flower centres and raised the image with 3d foam pads. I also chalked the edged of the image with a little bit of ink, while it was still in the nesties die.

I have now read Paula's grass tutorial, but I have to admit, I need to practice a lot more. I also for some reason, don't ask me what, couldn't get my pencils sharp. I know that sounds odd, but it's true.

That's it from me for today, in fact for the weekend, how did it fly by. I can't believe it's nearly Monday already. I think we should change the 'rules' make weekends 3 days long. I am sure everyone will agree with me....

Goodbye

(This post has been edited....)

LOOK I've fixed my spelling mistake - thanks to all of you for sharing your mishaps with me. I'm glad to know I'm not the first :-))

Another card for today and another colleague leaving, not so lucky to be retiring.

I felt a bit guilty lately, that I've been neglecting my Penny Black stamps, LOL! I have a few, and have almost never used them, and since I've been images from all over, and been buying stamps as if my life depended on it, I haven't used them. The other day when I was stamping out my new stamps, I decided to throw a PB into the mix, and coloured this one up.

I don't really have an image with a group of people waving goodbye, isn't that what you usually get on the farewell cards at the shop? I thought this little hedgehog giving the other a flower to say goodbye, was sweet enough for the occasion.

I coloured this image with my lyras and blended it with sansador, what else these days. I added some glitter glue to the ladybugs and daisies, but it's not really showing on the photo. Cards always look so much better in real life.

This was one of the images I just coloured up in whatever colour came to mind. Well I tell you, I struggled for hours trying to find paper to match. That green pot - it threw me out completely.

In the end it turned out okay, but I am not going to be so quick to just colour up in future.

Off to do my next card..... I'm on a roll for a change!

All good things...

My aunt's birthday was on 20 February :-) I finally finished her birthday card tonight. Luckily I have not seen her, so she'll hopefully never know.

This is a Penny Black stamp I coloured with my lyra's. I wanted to try something a bit different to the usual square I've been doing a lot lately. Unfortunately the photo doesn't show the 'fold' nicely, and I was too tired to struggle with photographs at this time of night.

I also made a little pocket on the one side for the gift voucher she'll be getting.

I hope she likes it. She's the aunt who is always asking me for cards, now she's getting one herself.

The next card funny enough is also for my aunt, but it's for a friend's daughter. See, she is always asking me for cards.

I used another of the images Debbi sent me. It just jumped out at me. I can only assume it's a Sarah Kay stamp, as it says Sarah Kay on it. Sorry, but I'm not fortunate enough to own any.... Luckily for my friends out there who share with me, I had the fortune of getting to use one of these great images.

The image was also coloured with Lyra's and blended with Sansador. Added a bit of ribbon and flowers for a change, oh and some bling to her hat.

I guess I should be off to bed, tomorrow is work again. I couldn't face work the past few days, after I lost Shado. I suppose I have to face the world again tomorrow.

Enjoy and hope to hear from you all out there.

Mouse delivery

It was a REALLY good day today. Our Lotus Notes server was upgraded successfully to R8.2!! BUT wait, the best part of today was that our Rightfax email gateway is still working. Faxes are still routing to the mail boxes, even though the experts told me that our Rightfax version is not compatible with R8 of Domino. Well I jumped for joy that it all worked out just fine.

Okay, I just had to share my joy for the day... now if I just knew how to fix my problem with my children, oops sorry, I mean dogs. I've had this Penny Black stamp for, I am pretty sure, about 4 years now. This is the first time I've ever used it. Isn't it sad (and I am sure all of you have this problem), how I don't get enough time for my favourite hobby and then when I do get time, my creative juices just won't flow.

Do any of you struggle to get a card together? Sometimes I can sit for a looooong time trying to decide on the layout. Even when I eventually do decide, it still doesn't look as good as I wanted it to.

I really love this paper. I bought it last Saturday, and it was one of the more expensive ones which I try and avoid in the shops, but I decided for once to treat myself.

I stamped the image with Stazon and coloured it with Lyras, as usual blending it with Sansador and paper stumps, or blenders as some like to call it. I have been using my Sansador lately instead of the baby oil, no particular reason... maybe cause I have it :-)

Well that's all for now. Have a good evening... what's left of it and those of you who are behind me, a good day.

Here I am

Well I typed a whole long message and somehow lost it.

I have finally created a blog. Okay, I have a blog on docrafts, but it is not very user friendly :-), this is so much better.

I am so excited to be able to share all my creations with everyone out there. I hope someone at least picks me up and visits my blog. I would love to hear from all of you avid crafters out there.

Isn't the internet great. We can share so much and have the opportunity of seeing the creations of some of the best out there. Check my favourite blogs for those of you who want to see some really wonderful card designs.

Well, I will share my last creation with you. I made it for a friend at the office, for her husband's birthday. It was for once, a fun male card to make. I so do not enjoy making cards for men :-)

Here are some close ups.

It is a Penny Black stamp which I coloured with Tombows.

I have to run, the dogs are waiting to play ball, so they're driving me insane.

Please post your comments if you have any. I am so looking forward to hearing from some of you out there.
