Peek a boo!

One of my favourite blogs to visit is Jeanie's, the Spotted Chick. Whenever I visit her blog I am so inspired to go make a card, and that's exactly what happened when I visited her blog on Friday evening. I just loved all her new creations, and as you may pick up I even followed her sketch from this post.

Of course that is also her That's Krafty Thursday post, and seeing that I used kraft paper, what a coincidence, lol, I will be entering my card. If you don't have kraft paper just use an old brown envelope it is the exact same thing.

If my card looks skew it's not, it's the photo, I promise :-) So this image is from Bugaboo stamps, and I coloured it probably 6 months ago. It was a good thing I have not used it cause now I had it available at short notice, lol! I coloured it with prismacolor pencils and blended it with sansador (gamsol). The image was cut out with circle nestabilities, and yes I am very proud of myself I still remembered how to do that, woohoo.

We have had a lot of rain here in Jo'burg and although it saves me watering my garden it is getting a bit much now. I like sunshine and warm sunny days! Does anyone have that weather, let me know, I'm coming to visit!

Bye for now

Another 1 and 2 fours

Oh to be that young again! I have come to a point in my life where I have to colour my hair once a month or I am so grey my mother wouldn't recognise me! What's with that!!

Anyhow, these are additional cards that my friend asked for. She actually asked for 4 and 6, but I was having such fun with these, I wanted to try them all. So be warned, there are more to come, rofl!! Sorry!!! At least you can all see that I have been busy, I just haven't been posting much, it is too cold in my study. Okay I can turn a heater on, but it's usually such a mission and I am probably just too lazy, who knows!

These were all coloured with prismacolor pencils and blended with sansador. I cut them out with my nesties and layered the image on a nestie mat. I tried to get a bit of a circus tent look with the striped ones, not sure I achieved that, but seeing there's a clown I thought it would be perfect.

I really do like these images for kids' cards, they are so easy to colour and simply great for those who want the number on the card! That is always a HUGE challenge for me.

Now I have to go and see where my irrigation system is leaking. I found the spot yesterday, but I got to go and test it, so I can see exactly without having a muddy dam of water to try and see through, lol, it wasn't a whole dam, but close.

That's that for today! Hope you have a great day!

I'm a winner

I could not believe my luck, in one week I was one of the winners in Jeanie's That's Krafty Thursday challenge, and I won 4 free images from Bugaboo stamps when I entered their Saturday challenge. How cool is that!!! Okay maybe not so cool for the rest of you lol, but for me it was so exciting.

Of course I just had to enter Krafty Thursday again this time around. How could I not. If you want to enter then use this link here to get all the details. Check the little chicken on my sidebar, that's the badge that you could win. I love it, it's too cute.

My image is from Stamping Bella and is called Giga Watt. It's one of the many images Paula sent me ages ago, and finally I've had some time to use it. I coloured him with my prisma pencils and blended it with sansador. The star border is a martha stewart punch, which I have been dying to use, but just couldn't find the right fit.

I am so tired tonight, I did not sleep well last night at all, and at 2:11am I was taking my washing down cause it started raining. Not fun at all, hehehe. At least the garden got a nice soak.

Now go on and make those krafty projects, if you don't have kraft paper just use a brown paper bag or an old envelope, it works just as well.

Till later this week.

Pushing my luck!

I may not be as old as Stella over here, but this sentiment is so true when it comes to me, cause this is exactly how I exercise, lol!

This is one of the digital images I bought recently from Bugaboo Stamps (thanks Jeanie for introducing me), and her name is Stella Push my Luck. I love these images, and as mentioned before I had to take some out of my basket when I was shopping for her. I do prefer to have rubber when it comes to images, don't ask me why cause the digis work perfectly. Maybe it's just that you can feel what you got for your money, I don't know. BUT, if anyone has not tried a digital image and have been thinking about it, then I can only say go and try it, there is nothing to be afraid of, lol.

I have decided to enter this card in the Catch The Bug Challenge. The theme is April Showers, and you have to use the sketch, which was the easy part, but the April Shower part not quite that easy. I decided to apply my image this way, Stella is avoiding a sweaty 'April shower' by not doing any exercise. Does that count, rofl!!! See I'm pushing my luck, aren't I!?

Nothing new to tell you about the making of this card. I coloured it with my prisma pencils, blended it with Sansador (gamsol), speaking of which, I bought a new bottle today and was it expensive, man alive. I better not knock this one over, twice!, like the last one. I cut the image with a nestie long rectangle die and layered it on a scalloped mat. I added some glaze with my sakura glaze pen to her glasses. (The photos never show that though, but it makes the glasses look so good in real life.)

Lastly, this card is going to my mom for mother's day. Either from my sister or myself, I am still making another, but not with a Stella. I will let my sister chose which card she wants to give my mom, but I have a feeling it's going to be this one. Who can avoid Stella's charm.....

Till next time then.

That's Krafty Thursday, on a Monday

As I mentioned in my previous post, Jeanie has decided to open up her That's Krafty Thursday as a challenge. No, there's no big grand prize to be won, but it's fun and you can get a badge for best card if you enter.

I decided to play along, and although I do not have true kraft paper, I used something that looks very similar. Hopefully no-one can tell, lol (and don't read this post). This card is going to my niece for her 10th Birthday, her favourite colours are lime green and blue, but this was the closest I could get. Hopefully she still likes it.

The image I chose is from Whipper Snapper, and it's called Turtle with Frog. Aren't they just the pair. I think they're adorable. I got it with the many other images sent to me by Jeanie, and I thought it made sense to use one of them for her very own challenge.

The image was coloured with my prismacolor pencils and blended with sansador (gamsol). I then cut it with a nestie die and layered it on a nestie scalloped mat. I also added some glamour dust with my quickie glue pen, and the sentiment is from Stamping Bella. Oops nearly forgot, the little fence border was done with my Martha Stewart fence border punch.

We have a public holiday tomorrow and I'm so pleased cause I want to start working on my mom's birthday invitations. I have lots of time still to make them, but I know myself all too well. I always leave things till the last minute then I make a mess or don't do it at all.

That's it from me for today, hope you will all try and join in the That's Krafty Thursday challenge, you have till Wednesday evening to submit your entry. Lots of time!

Winter Olympics

It's Friday, yeah!!!! Why do we love Fridays so much, shame imagine how the other poor days must feel, lol.

We had an interesting theme for this Bellarific Friday, at least for a South African it was very interesting. We had to do winter sports, with the winter Olympics on in Canada at the moment, I guess everyone thought that it's a great idea, but here, no snow, ever, it's not something we even think about.

That was not going to stop me though, and I used Daisyboardabella for my card, and used the South African sports colours, green and gold, and based the layout on our flag. Even if there isn't a single South African at the winter Olympics, it didn't matter, I thought I'd stay local, hehehe.

As usual I coloured my image with prismacolor pencils and blended it with sansador. Then I cut it with a nestie oval template and layered it on a nestie oval template. I added some baubles to make it look a bit more glamorous.

Then look what decided to come and investigate my card while I was trying to take the photo. Jingle is so inquisitive, as cats are. At least he didn't say terrible card, rofl.

Don't forget to go visit the Bellablog later to see what everyone else got up to, I know I can't wait. It is always a highlight of my Friday.

I'm out of here, have a great weekend.

Such a cutie

That's what this little image is, a real cutie, and I used her for my Bellarific Friday card. It was a wild card this week, so it was really easy to make something, lol!

I got the little lulu stamps a couple months back but have only recently coloured some up. They are so easy to colour, cause there isn't that much to colour :-) Actually at first I thought that was going to make it a lot more difficult, but it actually wasn't. Left more time to make more cards, hehehe.

I coloured Henrietta Lulu with prisma pencils, blended with grumtine (gamsol or sansador) and cut her with a nestie. I used the fiskars threading water border punch for the sides, and I must say I really like that look. Oh the image was mounted on 3D tape.

I have never had a problem with Friday the 13th and have never thought that it was unlucky at all, but I got a call at 5am this morning from an unknown number, it turned out to be my mother, who is on holiday with a friend. She phoned to tell me that they had been robbed while they were sleeping. It is so sad that one cannot even go on holiday here, even then you are a target! So I am not feeling too cheerful right now and don't have much more to say.

There is one bright side to this day, it is my friend Paula's birthday, one of our super super talented Bella Babes. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAULA. I hope you have a wonderful day and a great trip to the Niagara falls!

It's Monday!

I don't know about the rest of you, but somehow, It's Monday, just doesn't sound a great as It's Friday! I think Mondays should be banned, lol!

I haven't had a chance to post my Bellarific Friday card, and I actually still don't have a chance, but I decided to do it now, even though it's going to make me SO late for work :-)

My two little friends Ella and Looloo from Stamping Bella of course, were coloured with prismas and blended with grumtine. Do I still need to say that in every post, I think I need auto text on blogspot so it adds it for me automatically, hehehe. The image was cut with nesties and layered on 3D foam. I also added two little baubles, which I really like a lot. In fact if I could I would probably add them to every card I make!

I know I am really behind time, but just in case you have not been to the Bella blog yet, do go and check out all the beautiful entries and remember if you leave a comment you could win Bella bucks!

I'd love to chat some more and tell you about my weekend, but I really am very late and have to rush. I will be back soon though, as I have other cards to share! They can't wait to be posted, lol!

Have a great week!!!

Ship ahoy

If you look really carefully you will see the ship in the background of this image, and it's not the titanic cause it's still sailing!

I was quite scared when I decided to colour this image up, okay you might wonder why I bought the the stamp then. Well it just looked so nice and fun, but after I stamped it, I thought, huhmm this is not going to be that much fun. I eventually pulled the image out of storage and attempted it. And voila....., here you have it! It was actually really enjoyable, but that could be because I tried something I learnt the other day. I was watching a craft show, and they were doing fabric painting, the person who was explaining what to do said that you can add a little blue to create a shaded effect on red. I was like what, huh, is that how they do it, I just had to try and you won't believe it, it's like magic. I'm guessing the artists out there (probably not only them), are thinking, isn't that common sense. Well I did not know that, and I was so impressed by the result.

I coloured the image with prisma pencils, and that red is just stunning. I have lots of reds in my lyra set, but not one is actually red, they are either pink or orange. The image and sentiment are both from Micia, which I bought locally at a little craft shop. The wavy border is my EK Success punch used for the first time. There's never enough time to use all my supplies, but I am sure they will eventually get their turn and hopefully more than once, lol!

There's a new sketch for this week's Bellarific Friday, and it's by none other than our Shannanabella, that's so cute! Remember if you participate you could win Bella bucks, to buy Bella goodies, and who wouldn't want some Bella goodies. I know I do, my order shipped today, yippeeeee!

Here's the sketch, see nice and fun and easy! All the instructions are on the Bella blog. Now go on, get started, I know I am. In fact I have my image all coloured up and ready.....

Make a wish

Did I ever tell you how much I just adore Stella, from Stamping Bella!!!??? I think she is just the most fun loving 'person' you could have on your cards! Look at her, isn't she wonderful!

I always give Stella luscious red lips when I colour her and this case was no exception, but I went over the line just slightly (ssshhhhh don't tell Paula), which I think the photo luckily doesn't show, but I had a good giggle as she reminded of Robert Smith from the Cure, way back in the eighties when its was cool for men to wear make-up. Weren't those just the best times.

Daisy with a Stella on top, was coloured with my prisma pencils and cut out with nesties. I added some glitter and although it wasn't a lot, it reminds me of the Katy Perry song, Waking up in Vegas - get up and shake the glitter off your clothes now....! That's exactly what I had to do. There was glitter everywhere, lol. I also made those lips look a little more special with my clear glaze pen, but it seems my photos do not want to show all the little extras, it's such a pity, cause in real life it looks so nice.

On to some other bloggy stuff. I got two more awards.

Georgina Glamourpuss

Don't you just love that name! I do! It makes me laugh every time I say it out loud.

I'm trying to type this post and eat dinner, when you're hungry dinner takes preference. Especially when it gets cold so quickly. But it's finished now, so the post will get done in no time.

This image is Georgina Glamourpuss from Stamping Bella, and she's been coloured with none other than my little prisma pencils. The baubles, aren't they great, are also from Stamping Bella. I ordered some not so long ago, and boy is it difficult to chose which colour to take. I love them they are such classy embellishments. You'll be seeing more of them soon.

The paper is the new Basic Grey Lemonade collection, 6x6 pad. I really do like these pads, if you haven't got any yet, go get some! Now!!! LOL!!!! Seriously, they should all make them for us card makers.

Now for the sad part of my post. Did any of you know that when chicks are hatched they are seperated, male one side and female the other. The females are kept for laying eggs, the males are gassed to death, cause they have no use for them. I DID NOT know this, and found it out last night. I cannot believe that I am 41 years old and only learnt this now. I was so sad, not only is it madness that they must be killed, but on this show I watched, they uncovered farmers who did such unthinkable things to get rid of them, I am not even going to mention it here. Needless to say, I won't be eating eggs anymore!

Well that is me for tonight, I am off to watch a little TV and do some colouring. Have a great week all.
