Not a happy girl

Now who would've thought when I made this card I would feel exactly like she does the day I get to post it. I had such drama at my house last night with someone trying to break in and actually ripping my electric fence off in one place to climb over the wall. Thank goodness for the alarm cause that must've scared them, but I can't say I'm the happiest of people right now.

Anyhow that stuff is depressing so lets talk about my card. No Fair Girl is from Stamping Bella, and I think you all know by now that I love Stamping Bella.

I coloured her with my prismacolor pencils, blended with sansador, and cut with my craft knife, hehehe, no nestie. I did a pierced border around the card, and don't get me wrong, I really like that effect, but I really wanted to stitch it and was too lazy to go to the sewing room, lol!

That's about it, and about all I have to share today. Don't forget Bellarific Friday is twinchie Friday or a 2" square cardboard.

Bye for now

Something funky

I'm a bit late, but I think not many people will notice cause we're not all in the same time zone, lol! It's Bellarific Friday, and I am only posting at the end of the day, as I said, it is in Johannesburg, but luckily in lots of other places the day has only just started.

This week our challenge was a sketch, by our very own Dana. If you have seen the sketch you will know that it was a bit of a challenge for me, cause my card does not look a lot like it should. Sometimes I LOVE sketches and sometimes I am SO challenged by them. Anyone else got that little problem?

I used Suzette Ketto for this week's card, and decided on doing something a little different and funky, cause that's exactly what this image is. I coloured her with prisma pencils and blended with sansador (gamsol or grumtine). Then cut the image with nesties and layered it on nesties. I made some distressed embellishments. I like distressing, but I have to be careful not to get too carried away, lol! It is often very useful to distress if you make a mistake!!

That's pretty much it for this post. I am very glad to be home and so looking forward to seeing what everyone has been up to. I have not had any time yet to catch up and while I was away absolutely no time to visit any blogs. Can anyone tell I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Luckily you can't see me shaking, haha!

Go on over to the Bella blog later and go get inspired by all the stunning entries this week. I get so inspired week after week.

Lastly don't forget the Bella party, contest, hop... it's going to be so much fun.

Such a cutie

That's what this little image is, a real cutie, and I used her for my Bellarific Friday card. It was a wild card this week, so it was really easy to make something, lol!

I got the little lulu stamps a couple months back but have only recently coloured some up. They are so easy to colour, cause there isn't that much to colour :-) Actually at first I thought that was going to make it a lot more difficult, but it actually wasn't. Left more time to make more cards, hehehe.

I coloured Henrietta Lulu with prisma pencils, blended with grumtine (gamsol or sansador) and cut her with a nestie. I used the fiskars threading water border punch for the sides, and I must say I really like that look. Oh the image was mounted on 3D tape.

I have never had a problem with Friday the 13th and have never thought that it was unlucky at all, but I got a call at 5am this morning from an unknown number, it turned out to be my mother, who is on holiday with a friend. She phoned to tell me that they had been robbed while they were sleeping. It is so sad that one cannot even go on holiday here, even then you are a target! So I am not feeling too cheerful right now and don't have much more to say.

There is one bright side to this day, it is my friend Paula's birthday, one of our super super talented Bella Babes. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAULA. I hope you have a wonderful day and a great trip to the Niagara falls!

Cake Anyone

I am going to be short and sweet, yeah really, promise.

This is another super cute image from Stamping Bella, called cheffa HUGGABUG. I LOVE the huggabugs, probably as much as I love Stella... shhhoooo... don't tell Stella, lol! They are designed by Christy Croll, if you have some time go visit her blog, she is an amazing artist. Any chance of some more huggabubs Christy?

I coloured my little chef with prisma pencils, blended it with grumtine (gamsol or sansador), cut a nestie frame and framed it, added a bit of glitter, and some brads. That was pretty much it, easy, short and sweet.

Well I told you I was going to be quick tonight, it's 11:09pm and I want to go get my beauty sleep. There is no rain, which means no thunder and lightning, which should mean - YEAH, a good night's sleep, whooohoo.

Hope you haven't forgotten about the Bella challenge for this week, it's that wild card remember, you can do whatever you like!

..............night sleep tight

Circus is in town

When I saw this image at Stamping Bella, it reminded me of my childhood days and going to the circus. It was always such fun and I imagined circus people have their own secret societies. Now that I'm all grown up, I guess not, they're just ordinary people like the rest of us.

Of course my ideal circus has no animals in it. Animals do not belong in a circus and should never have to have a life of moving around in a cage doing tricks!

My usual trusty little prismas were used to colour this image and I blended it with grumtine as per usual too. I had fun colouring it, not often you would use such bright colours, but when it came to putting the card together, I was somewhat challenged. I did not chose the paper before colouring - BIG mistake!!!

The wavy border was done with my EK Success border punch, I added lots of baubles, LOVE them, and glitter with my quickie glue pen, love that too - I love, love, love all this wonderful crafting stuff!!! - LOL.

But of course I cannot omit to mention this card is for Bellarific Friday!!! Yeah yeah, go see the creations and leave a comment, you might win some Bella bucks!

It's Friday and I have the day off!!! Woooohoooo....

Back to Bella

Of course here I am back to my Bellas, I couldn't drift away for too long! Although I have LOTS of other stamps which are feeling very unused. I am sure when I retire one day that will change, lol!

This Snowman with a birdie on top from Stamping Bella (of course), is one of the new releases from last month. I have just managed to use ONE of the new releases I bought and guess what, Emily is talking of another new release at the end of September. How ever will I cope!!! ... and I am nowhere near retirement yet.

My snowman was coloured with my prisma pencils and blended with grumtine. I really enjoyed colouring his never ending hat. It's a major challenge for me to colour in white, is there anyone else who also struggles with this? I never know where to add a little shading or how much to add. The image was cut out with nesties, and layered on card stock which has been through my cuttlebug. Unfortunately the photo does not show the embossing on the background paper very well, but it has been embossed, honest.

It is strange that even here Christmas is synonymous with snow, yet we have sweltering hot Christmases. I guess that comes from movies and books. It is the one thing most South Africans dream of, a White Christmas, note I said most - that does not include me. I LOVE the hot weather we have in December.

I think there is a party going on in my roof and I wasn't invited. Some birds have nested in my roof again, and I swear it sounds like they are having a disco, there is so much shuffling of little feet going on! I must get the ladder and climb in there so I can see what's potting. I mean they are welcome, as long as they behave.

Now that I have managed two Christmas cards this year, I better get off the computer and go finish the third one I've started. I'm so proud of myself. Wonder if I'll manage more than two, lol!

I'm b-a-a-a-a-a-ck

.... did you miss me, hehehehe!!! Okay, maybe no-one noticed but I was in Cape Town for two days last week, which stole just about ALL my crafting time. I am definitely planning on catching up this afternoon. I've done all my DIY around the house, on that topic, is it just me who always have things around the house to fix, or do the rest of you also do, or is it the fact that there is no man here to do it for me?? That might be it, LOL!

I have something a little unusual today, Daisy Lamp, from Stamping Bella. I'm not sure if it's a lamp or a pot plant gone wrong, but it's funky and fun, and once in a while it's great to do something unusual. For me at least.

I coloured the image with prisma pencils and blended it with sansador, then cut it with my nesties and layered it on 3D foam. I was not planning on using a green / blue combo, but when I started looking for card stock to go with my design paper I saw there was a little bit of blue in the DP. I only then added the blue to the lamp shade and voila, a blue and green card. And I must say, I really like it.

I have a busy week ahead of me. My mom is away on holiday (again :-)), which usually means I have so much more to do at home, especially when it comes to food. No-one to cook me dinner, damn, and I so looove the kitchen - NOT.

I think I might have to steal a little of my crafting time for a 30 minute nap. I didn't sleep well last night, my house alarm went off about an hour after I went to bed. Boy did it confuse me when I woke. Well of course I got the fright of my life, as it could only mean that someone is breaking into my house! But luckily that wasn't the case, I think it must've been a moth or something that set the sensor off. I was never afraid if my alarm went off, but since my house was robbed, while I was sleeping upstairs, I get really scared. My poor little heart just about jumps right out of my chest. It's not fun at all.

Anyhow, enough of my waffling, all is okay, and I am off to practice my bow and knot tying. I just watched the videos Linda has linked up on her chat box, and it is oh so helpful!

I did it!

I can't believe it myself, but I managed to make a Christmas card! AND it's early.... not last minute, which is usually the case for me. I was determined this year to make Christmas cards, even if it is only one! Hopefully I will manage a few more, but let me not promise anything, lol.

When I realised I needed a reasonably long thing image for this week's Bellarific Friday sketch, I was like, oooooops, I don't have such an image, what am I gonna do. I searched threw my images and stamps and eventually came across this little beauty. I was so pleased!

Santa's Birdhouse was coloured with my pencils, prismas this time, and blended with grumtine. Then cut out with nesties and placed on 3D foam. I added some glitter with my quickie glue pen, which looks really nice, but not all that visible on the pic :-( I wanted to add some ribbon, cause Christmas and ribbons go hand in hand, for me at least, but I felt the card would've been a bit too busy. I also realised I do not have a single Bella Christmas sentiment - can you believe it!!!??? I couldn't I was sure I had lost them, but no, I have never ordered any. Do I need to even mention what's gonna be in my next order??? LOL!!

I can't believe it's a week since I sat here and posted my last Bellarific Friday card, and again I am going to be late for work. But life has priorities, and on a Friday morning Bella Friday is much more important than getting to work on time, hehehe.

I can't wait for Emily's post later to see what everyone has done with this sketch of mine. And don't forget, if you didn't manage to make something in time, leave a comment you can still win some bucks!

When last did you ride a bike

Sadly I cannot tell you when last I rode a bike. Excluding a stationary bike! That I rode a lot, I was super fit and didn't miss a spinning class to save my life, however, I don't anymore... oh boy, I've become a lazy bum, lol!

I love how happy and cheerful i-wish-i-looked-so-good-on-a-bikeabella looks on her bike. She makes it look so easy, and best of all, she makes it look like summer has returned.... hehehe!!!!

I coloured the image with prisma pencils, cut it with my nesties, how else :-) and mounted it on 3d foam. I added some glitter, again with my quickie glue pen - did you get one yet - you must must get one, they are awesome! The precision is just perfect!

The crocheted flower is one of the MANY, and I am not exaggerating when I say MANY, flowers my mom made for me. I think she was on a mission to make enough to last me more than one life time. She made such gorgeous stuff, I wish I could use them all the time, but obviously they don't go with every occasion, but in this case, I thought this flower was just perfect. Don't ya think!??

I am off to be now, it's past my bedtime and I need lots of beauty sleep, or I'm very grumpy, more than usual (lol), the whole day!

Don't forget to go and check the Bella blog tomorrow for this week's sketch! It's fun and you can win bella bucks. Now go on, get those Bella images out! Mine's already coloured up!

It's Friday

I'm so pleased it's Friday, not sure why, my week was fine, busy, but fine otherwise. It's just that it's weekend, and I LOVE weekends, lots of time for crafting.

Of course today is Bellarific Friday, lets not forget that. It means we get to see all the great stuff that was done with my sketch. I have to admit, my sketch challenged me a LOT. I didn't think it was going to, it looked such fun and easy, but it wasn't easy at all. I have decided that I don't like sketches, if I ever say I do, ignore me, cause I will probably find one that's easy and the rest will drive me insane, lol.

I coloured the huggabug bedbugg with prisma pencils and added some glitter to the wing with my quickie glue pen. The sentiments are both from Stamping Bella. I love these little huggabugs they are so cute and such fun to colour, and in my view great for any age.

Off I go to get ready for work, late again, but I think that goes without say now :-) At least it's a little warmer today, but NO Linda, not warm enough for shorts, LOL!!!

See you all later at the Bella Blog.
