Just before the year ended

Yip that's exactly right, I managed to squeeze in a card just before the year ended! Shoo, I thought I was never gonna make it back, but here I am, still alive, just haven't had ANY time for crafting. I've also got a new member in my family, and that has taken up a little bit of my time too. His name is Jingle, there's more about him further down so keep reading.

I coloured this image some time ago, and finally yesterday put a little card together. I love the colours and I love this image. It's from Stamping Bella of course, and it's one of the Lollipop range, she's called Presley Lollipop. Isn't she adorable.

I coloured her with my prisma pencils, blended with sansador and cut the image with nesties. It's also layered on nesties. The sentiment comes with the stamp, and for a change I remembered that the image had it's own sentiment. I often stamp the images way in advance then when I use them I search for a sentiment and forget they have their very own perfect one.

Okay so enough about the card, it's boring talk and I am sure seeing a picture is what most people are interested in.

Meet Jingle. My Christmas gift from mother nature? I went to my vet last week to collect some tablets for Simby, and the receptionist asked me if I didn't want a kitten. No-one wanted him and he was nearly dumped, so she took him to try and find a home for him. Of course sucker, Meahni, walked in at the wrong time, or was it the right time, lol! How can anyone not want this little guy. He was only 4 weeks when I got him, and was the tiniest little thing I have ever seen.

That's it from me for today. I'm off to go see Avatar later, looking forward to that.

I wish you all a wonderful and happy new year! May you all get stinking rich in 2010.

Tatiana Ketto

Isn't that a funky name, it reminds me of Tatiana that was on one season of American Idol, she was a nut case, but contributed so much of the entertainment that season.

This little Tatiana Ketto is from Stamping Bella of course, and I used her for this week's challenge, faux or sew! How cool is that.

I coloured her with my prisma pencils, blended with Sansador and cut her out with nesties. I added some baubles, and don't tell although I think it is clear, I drew my stitching on with a white pen, LOL!!!!

I've not been very busy lately, work has been getting in the way, as some of you can probably tell, but I am on holiday now, and will most definitely make up some time. Making cards, visiting all your blogs, woohoo, can't wait.

So be sure to hop on to the Bella Blog and go see what everyone else had done for today. I can't wait.

Take care

It's Friday and it Blings!

Yay, our theme this week at Stamping Bella was Bling! Isn't that fun, I love glitter so to do bling was oh so cool.

I used little maisy ketto, on of the ketto range and I just have to let you all know that I love kettos now. I was never sure if I'd use them or if they would excite me as much as Stella and the rest, but I have used a few of them recently and they just help me make great cards. Well in my humble opinion of course, lol!

I coloured maisy with my lyra pencils and blended her with sansador, then cut the image with a nestie and matter it on a neste. I added lots of glitter with my quickie glue pen and glamour dust. I mean bling and glitter goes hand in hand doesn't it.

Then there's some rhinestones and ribbon of course. I also used my new EK success border punch. Love it!

Now don't forget to visit the Bella Blog for all the creations by my fellow babes, and then of course all of those other wonderful talented people who are not on the babes team! They are all so inspiring.

Lastly, don't forget the great new releases from the Bellaland. There is so much fun and exciting stuff... I haven't been able to chose what I want to get yet.

Have a great Friday....

It's release day!

Finally the day has arrived, Stamping Bella's 3rd Birthday and with that a brand new release. Isn't that exciting.

I was lucky enough to get given one of the new images to play with, but unfortunately I forgot to ask Emily what the name of the image is, lol. I am sure it will be easy to spot under the new release section once Emily has uploaded them.

I coloured these 4 cuties with a combo of prisma and lyra pencils, and blended it with sansador. I find that the grumtine smudges the images if they have been printed from a digital image. Weird, but at least there was solution. The image was cut with nesties and layer on nesties. I used my new fiskars punch, which I just love. I have seen it used on so many cards and finally I just had to get one myself.

I tried to have the one little girl stand out as the 'unique' one, but she is a little dull, I guess that could make one unique too! Anyhow, she looks different to the rest and that is what I wanted :-))

I also added some baubles for a little something extra, and some sakura glaze pen to her glasses. It is so clever, makes it look just like glass in real life.

Be sure to go and visit the Bella Blog to see what all is in the new release. I have seen some gorgeous images that my fellow Babes have on their blogs, you can find their links on the sidebar. I predict lots of new rubber is going to be on it's way to me, whooohooo!

By the way, I went to see The Killers last week Thursday, they came to visit South Africa as part of their world tour. At least they remember to include us, so many great bands just skip S.A. Anyhow, the concert was excellent, so if they're on their way to you, best you go and see them. Brandon Flowers, the lead singer, is just yummy!

till next time....

Stamping Bella Birthday Celebration Blog Hop

Yay!!! Finally the time has arrived. The Stamping Bella Birthday Blog Hop is here.

If you did not start at the beginning of the hop then you really should go back to Emily's blog. There you will find the complete list of participants. To get to me you should've come from Jens' Blog. You really do want to see the whole list, cause if you leave a comment on each hop, you can win LOTS of Bella Bucks!!!

I chose Patricia Birthdaycake for my card, and wanted something a little more stylish. I'm not sure if I achieved that entirely, but I still like how it turned out. My inspiration came from my friend Mandy, who sent me this card for my birthday. Thanks again Mandy!

I coloured Patricia with my prisma pencils, blended it with grumtine (sansador or gamsol), and cut and layered her on a nestie. I added some glamour dust to her wings and dress, and of course a little on the cake.

So enough about my card, lets move on and talk a little more about the hop. Three gift certificates for $100 in Bella Bucks will be hidden along the hop, but we’re not telling you where so be sure to leave comments on all the blogs as you hop!!! But wait...there will be another $100 in Bella Bucks given to one random blog hop participant. Hope you managed to join us, lol.

Emily has an awesome release planned for the Stamping Bella Birthday on December 7th featuring a little bit from MOST of the artists!! So be sure to pop onto Bloggabella on December 7th to see all the new rubbah goodness along with the winners of the Birthday Bash blog hop and contest.

Finally, hop on over to TAMARA'S BLOG! Hopefully you haven't run out of energy yet, lol! I promise there are some great designs to come and you don't wanna miss it!

That's it from me, take care.

U did it!

This is certainly one good balancing act! And even though this image, Addy 'tude is a cupcake diva from Stamping Bella, comes with her very own sentiment, I thought U did it!, is just so much more appropriate. I had no-one in mind when I made this card, and no special occasion that it could be used for, but I will keep it in my stash and I am sure one day something will come up and it will be the perfect card.

As usual, I coloured Addy with my prisma pencils, blended her with grumtine (sansador or gamsol), and cut her out with nesties. I love nesties, now there's a banner I'd like for my blog, anyone seen one. lol!

That's about all there is to tell about the card, I added some glaze to her glasses, jewelry and the cherries, but not all of it is visible on the pic. It looks really good though.

Yesterday we put our Christmas decorations up in the office, and it's quite sad that we used to decorate almost the whole floor, but now the I.T department has shrunk so much, we only got to decorate a small section. It is really well decorated though, cause we insisted on using ALL our decorations, lol! Have any of you put up your tree yet, if you celebrate Christmas of course. I haven't, I usually only do it 12 days before Christmas, but I'm thinking I might do it sooner this year. No real reason why, I just feel like it.

Okay got to go, enough chit chatting. Oh, before I go, I have a question. We, the Stamping Bella babes have been thinking of doing some tutorials, there is already Paula's grass tutorial and Joanne's buttony bow (both are on my sidebar), but what else would you ladies like to see!!?? Do share please.

Till later this week, got a gorgeous little card to share.

Something funky

I'm a bit late, but I think not many people will notice cause we're not all in the same time zone, lol! It's Bellarific Friday, and I am only posting at the end of the day, as I said, it is in Johannesburg, but luckily in lots of other places the day has only just started.

This week our challenge was a sketch, by our very own Dana. If you have seen the sketch you will know that it was a bit of a challenge for me, cause my card does not look a lot like it should. Sometimes I LOVE sketches and sometimes I am SO challenged by them. Anyone else got that little problem?

I used Suzette Ketto for this week's card, and decided on doing something a little different and funky, cause that's exactly what this image is. I coloured her with prisma pencils and blended with sansador (gamsol or grumtine). Then cut the image with nesties and layered it on nesties. I made some distressed embellishments. I like distressing, but I have to be careful not to get too carried away, lol! It is often very useful to distress if you make a mistake!!

That's pretty much it for this post. I am very glad to be home and so looking forward to seeing what everyone has been up to. I have not had any time yet to catch up and while I was away absolutely no time to visit any blogs. Can anyone tell I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Luckily you can't see me shaking, haha!

Go on over to the Bella blog later and go get inspired by all the stunning entries this week. I get so inspired week after week.

Lastly don't forget the Bella party, contest, hop... it's going to be so much fun.

A Bella and a HUGE house

I have a Bella and a HUGE house to share today. But first, has anyone missed me yet!!? I'm not back, just joining in the Bella fun. I hope you all have too.

This week's theme was anything Bella, any of the Bella characters and there sure are a lot to choose from. I decided to use Savvyshoppabella. Don't you just love those legs that go on forever, wish I had legs like that, lol.

I coloured her with prisma pencils, blended with sansador (gamsol or grumtine), and cut her with a nestie - yeah I know, so what's new. I added some glamour dust with my quickie glue pen, and added a button with a little bow on top. Sorry the photo is a bit dark.

Now for the HUGE house! When I look out of the window of my study this is the house I see, way on top of the hill. The drive way towards the house looks like the great wall of China, lol! I took some pictures yesterday cause I so wanted to share this phenomenon with you all. I know there are lots of big houses everywhere, but this one just looks so interesting. I just looked up at it again now, and I've been blinded by the sun shining on one of the many windows.

Okay maybe it's just me who's fascinated by this, but it is such an interesting house, wish I could see it inside. I wonder if they are going to light it up like a Christmas tree at Christmas time. Of course I can't help but wonder how many little animals' habitat was destroyed with the construction of this monstrosity :-(

Well that's it for today, just had to share that. Have a great Friday!

Such a cutie

That's what this little image is, a real cutie, and I used her for my Bellarific Friday card. It was a wild card this week, so it was really easy to make something, lol!

I got the little lulu stamps a couple months back but have only recently coloured some up. They are so easy to colour, cause there isn't that much to colour :-) Actually at first I thought that was going to make it a lot more difficult, but it actually wasn't. Left more time to make more cards, hehehe.

I coloured Henrietta Lulu with prisma pencils, blended with grumtine (gamsol or sansador) and cut her with a nestie. I used the fiskars threading water border punch for the sides, and I must say I really like that look. Oh the image was mounted on 3D tape.

I have never had a problem with Friday the 13th and have never thought that it was unlucky at all, but I got a call at 5am this morning from an unknown number, it turned out to be my mother, who is on holiday with a friend. She phoned to tell me that they had been robbed while they were sleeping. It is so sad that one cannot even go on holiday here, even then you are a target! So I am not feeling too cheerful right now and don't have much more to say.

There is one bright side to this day, it is my friend Paula's birthday, one of our super super talented Bella Babes. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAULA. I hope you have a wonderful day and a great trip to the Niagara falls!

Cake Anyone

I am going to be short and sweet, yeah really, promise.

This is another super cute image from Stamping Bella, called cheffa HUGGABUG. I LOVE the huggabugs, probably as much as I love Stella... shhhoooo... don't tell Stella, lol! They are designed by Christy Croll, if you have some time go visit her blog, she is an amazing artist. Any chance of some more huggabubs Christy?

I coloured my little chef with prisma pencils, blended it with grumtine (gamsol or sansador), cut a nestie frame and framed it, added a bit of glitter, and some brads. That was pretty much it, easy, short and sweet.

Well I told you I was going to be quick tonight, it's 11:09pm and I want to go get my beauty sleep. There is no rain, which means no thunder and lightning, which should mean - YEAH, a good night's sleep, whooohoo.

Hope you haven't forgotten about the Bella challenge for this week, it's that wild card remember, you can do whatever you like!

..............night sleep tight

I can't sew

I cannot sew to save my life, so please don't look at my sewing on this card too closely. Actually I don't think one can miss it, lol! I went somewhat skew, and the funny thing is, usually the cards look better in real life, which is true in this case too, cause this photo makes it look SO much worse than it really is. Honest!!!

For this card I used a sketch my fellow Bella Babe Paula used some time ago. I have been eyeing it for ages now, and finally today I decided to use it. I also decided to enter this card in for the Crafty Catz challenge, this week their theme is dottie. See all the dots on my card, if you can draw your eyes away from my sewing, you'll see it, honest.

The image is a reasonably new one from Stamping Bella called Henriette Lulu. There are a few of them in the range, and they are just adorable. Go see, but be warned you will want them, all! I coloured the image with prismacolor pencils, blended it with grumtine (gamsol or sansador), and cut it with a round nestie. The sewing was done with my mother's sewing machine, and I love sewing on cards, just don't do it often cause 1. I'm bad at it, and 2. the sewing room is upstairs and my hobby room is down stairs. Lazy, I know.

This week's theme at the Bellaland is ANYTHING - ** A WILD CARD **. Isn't that cool, you can do whatever your little heart desires. I love the idea, except now I have to think.

That's it from me for tonight, I am ready for bed, and the thunder is not fun at all. We get really bad thunder hear in Jo'burg, and even though I should be used it, after ALL these years, lol, it still frightens me.

Sweet dreams, when you get there.

Tangled Stella

It's Friday, and this week I am REALLY happy to say that. It's just been one of those weeks where I could've stayed in bed rather than having to face life. No particular reason, everything is just hunky dory, but I was just so not in the mood.

This week's theme for da Bellarific Friday was Christmas/Winter. I went with Christmas and used Tangled Stella. I love Stella, she is my most favourite of the Stamping Bella range.

I coloured Stella and her lights with my prisma pencils and blended it with grumtine (gamsol or sansador). I cut her out with an oval nestie and matted the image on a scalloped oval nestie. What was card making life like before nesties came along! I added some extra effects with my glaze pen and glamour dust with my quickie glue pen, and that's pretty much it.

I guess I got to be off and try face the world again... work is waiting, funny how it never gets tired of waiting and goes away, lol!!

Now hop on over and go see all the gorgeous designs by my fellow Bella Babes and of course all of you, I hope you participated.

Enjoy your weekend.

Here comes the bride!

and NO it is definitely not me... LOL!!!

My cousin phoned me and asked for a wedding card. This is what I came up with. I have to admit formal style cards are a HUGE challenge for me. I never know what to do to make it formal, and to stick to white only, like I've done here, is also a challenge. I sure hope she likes the card, if not, there are luckily shops who sell them, hehehe.

This stamp is from Stamping Bella and it's called Bridalpartybellas. I coloured the image with my prismalcolor pencils, blended it with grumtine (gamsol or sansador), added lots of glamour dust with my quickie glue pen, it's a wedding card, it has to have lots of shine doesn't it. I used the swiss dot cuttlebug template again, told you I loved it. The border was done with a martha stewart punch. Lastly the sentiment is also from Stamping Bella, perfect isn't it.

Did any of you do the blog hop!? I did, it was such fun and I got so much inspiration. I also enjoyed 'meeting' so many new crafters. It seems there are loads of us out there. Probably a good thing or no-one would be making loads of craft products now would they.

That wraps up this post. It's Sunday night again, and it's November already, unbelievable how fast the time goes. I wonder if we'll ever figure out why. It's strange how we never have enough time yet we have all these time saving devices.

Have a great week.

ChiChiboulie blog hop

Welcome to my blog, I hope you are not too tired from all the hopping yet, you're nearly there. Isn't this fun, it's the first time I participate in a hop and it's so exciting.

Now if you are not sure what this post is all about, then please start at Emily's blog. You should have come to me from Jackie's blog, if not then go back, or you'll miss lots of inspiration.

I choose Cecily Cinnamonstick for my card, and decided on some bright vibrant colours, as it is summer here in South Africa after all. Yeah you hopped all the way down to the bottom of Africa. Hopefully you still have the strength to hop on back, all the way to Canada, lol!

I coloured her with my Lyra pencils, blended with grumtine (gamsol or sansador) and layered her on a nestie mat. I added some glamour dust with my quickie glue pen, and a few highlights with my glaze pen. The crocheted flower is one my mom made for me. The green background was done with the Swiss Dot cuttlebug template. LOVE that template!!!

Now don't forget to leave a comment. One pre-selected blogger will draw a random winner from the comments on her post, the winner will receive a $25 gift voucher for Stamping Bella. But of course we're not telling you who it is! As you hop, make sure you leave comments on every post so you have a chance to win!! We will announce the winner on Friday in the Splitcoast forum. Don't forget there's a new release at Bellaland, that gift voucher could come in very handy, lol!!!

Okay time to hop on over to my fellow Bella DT member, Linda. I am sure she has the most gorgeous chichiboulie for us to drool over.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great weekend.

Dare to be different

This is what my little card is all about today. It's Bellarific Friday, our theme was anything kids and I thought a little boy card would be something a little different as we generally steer towards female cards - yeah I know, they are SOOOO much easier.

Anyhow, I thought I'd dare to be different, a boy card and a robot called kilo watt that's made of lots of scrap metal! Isn't he cute??? I love him, with that one big eye - oh it makes me laugh every time I look at it.

This is the usual stuff of course, coloured with prisma pencils, blended with grumtine (sansadore or gamsol), cut with nesties, layered on nesties, a bit of distressing and that's it. Short and sweet. That sentiment is also from Stamping Bella, when I looked through my sentiments I was like what shall I use, came across this one and jumped for joy. Could you find a better sentiment, I don't think so.

Don't forget the new release at Bellaland today. I can't wait, it's all cute stuff, which is right up my alley. I could buy every single cute stamp out there, but I guess I won't, I would be 104 and still not have used them all, lol!

Also, there's the chi-chiboulie blog hop tomorrow. If you Don't join us then at least try and join in the hop, there's bella bucks up for grabs. The hop will start at the Bella Blog.

Have a great weekend.

Surf's up!

I don't really have a story to go with this card... maybe I should make one up, lol!

I bought the stamp, cause I figured it would be a handy image to have for male cards, we all LOVE to make them don't we. I coloured it just for fun and don't have anyone it's going to. Gee another for my stash. I don't live anywhere near the coast, so it might stay in my stash for some time to come.

Surfafella is from Stamping Bella, of course, and he was coloured with a mix of prisma and lyra pencils. Only cause some of my lyra's are always next to me and I was too lazy to pull out some of the prisma's I needed and didn't get out from the start. I cut the image with nesties, tried something different by cutting some of the image out and then only the rest with the nesty. I quite like that. I also created a distressed flower, I've seen it so often and love them, and finally had to make one myself.

I am soooo tired tonight, I can't keep my eyes open. But I have to share quickly that this week's theme for Bellarific Friday is 'something for the kids' or 'anything kids'. How about that. Easy and fun and guess who's card is done... yeah yours truly. Now go on and get started and join us on Friday. You need to send your entry to Emily by Thursday evening, details are on the Bella Blog. ..........AND DON'T FORGET THE NEW RELEASE ON FRIDAY - THERE'S THE CUTEST STUFF COMING.

Oh no one more thing, no sleeping for me yet, there's a Bella chi-chiboulie blog hop this Saturday, details are here if anyone wants to join us.

Now I am off to bed. Sleep tight, sweet dreams, chat soon.

Cuppa Tea?

I actually wouldn't mind a cuppa tea right now. It started raining, nice rain though, not an ugly storm, but still lots of thunder and lighting so I'm sitting here posting with my little Misty (my Jack Russell) on my lap. She has to hang off a little, cause she doesn't quite fit, but she is not moving. She's safe and warm, just the way she likes it. Not sure who's going to protect me from the thunder cause it frightens me too, lol!

I made this card just for fun. I loved this cuppa tea stamp when Stamping Bella released it. I'm a tea drinker see, not big on coffee. So I had to have it. To me it's the kind of image that can be used for many occasions, even though I don't have one right now. I guess it will go into my stash.

I coloured the image with my prisma pencils, blended it with grumtine (gamsol or sansador), then cut it out with nesties and added some ribbon and a little tea-pot charm, it's oh so cute.

Oh the thunder is getting worse.... I must hurry and turn the computer off before it gets struck by lightning......

So quickly then, Stamping Bella has a new release on the 30th, this week! Lindabella has already shared a sneak peak, so go check her blog, and then you can also check the artist Lori Boyd's blog, she also has a little sneak peak. They are just tooooooo cute, I can't wait.

Okay that's it from me today, really short. Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Something simple

It's Bellarific Friday, and this week's theme was flowers / nature. I am not very comfortable with that theme. Give me easy stuff, not such fancy themes. I went a little cold (lol) when Emily told us, I was like what on earth am I going to do. Thank goodness I had this Gerbera in vase stamp in my collection, and how lucky was I, I even had it stamped out ready for colouring.

This is something way out of my comfort zone, I have never made a card that is so plain and simple, I felt a bit guilty and thought I must spend more time on it, or I have not done my fair share, but there just wasn't more I wanted to do. I loved it, just plain and simple. I wish all my cards could go as quick as this one went. I could make loads more and catch up on the ones I'm behind on!!

The image was coloured with my prismacolor pencils, blended with grumtine (gamsol or sansador), cut with nesties then I added some ink to the edges and cut the mat with the scalloped nestie regtangle. Of course I added some glamour dust, but that was it, it took so little time to make compared to some of my cards.

I wanted to add a sentiment, but wasn't sure what, seeing the card had no real purpose it was difficult to decide. However, I chatted to a lady at the office earlier in the day, she asked if I had any get well cards with me, she needed one for her sister. I said no, and definitely not on me, lol. So when I looked for a sentiment, it was like... THAT'S it, Have a speedy recovery is perfect. I took it to the office the next day and it got snatched up and taken to the hospital, sweet.

The reason I bought this stamp was because of the vase, it reminds me of one my gran had. When she passed away I asked my mom if I could have it, it was the only thing I wanted. Whenever I look at it, it reminds me of her. Last Saturday I went to see a friend for her birthday, I took her a beautiful yellow rose from my garden, she pulled out a vase to put it in, and guess what the vase looked like, just like this one! Is that weird or what - all of them this dark blue colour.

Okay I know I have have waffled on again. I am finished, got to get going for work. Have a great weekend............... Meahni
